love in the garden
this collection was inspired by the women in my life who came before me. my grandmother was one of eleven children and I loved nothing more than summers at her home listening to the endless conversations between sisters and friends. her house was constantly filled with conversation and laughter and so many characters coming and going. each print is named after one of the many beautiful women with larger than life personalities that filled that home and summer with so much love. I like to imagine they are all sitting together somewhere in a beautiful garden, trading stories and sipping on a glass of franzia or maybe a beer with a few ice cubes in it, like they always did.

Pregnant with my first child and unable to find products that I felt represented not only my own individual style but also the hopes and aspirations I had from my little one on the way I started designing everything from blankets, to crib sheets, to booties, to prints for the walls. Slowly I honed in my craft, focused on what I loved to design, and created my surface deigns and illustration studio Charlie Rowan Designs.
