6 Habits To A Better Me
May marked one year since I left Corporate America to pursue Charlie Rowan Designs full time, and in many ways it feels like at the same time I left my desk job I also stepped away from my old life and consciously started to shift into a life that feels truer to my purpose. This year has without a doubt been a year of transformation for me in many ways. I joke with my friends and family that I have really embraced my inner hippy this year. Which to be honest has always been there I had just pushed it way down and piled things like accomplishment, accolades, busyness, and…

SUMMER LIVING.
Isn’t it amazing what a little sunshine and outdoors can do for the soul. After months of snow, rain, and short days summertime feels like such a godsend as a mother. Summer seems to bring such a sense of adventure, and with the warm weather and longer days it feels like you gain a few extra hours to pack in just a little more fun! This week we kicked off the summer with a picnic to one of our favorite parks and it made my mama heart so full with the simplicity of it and the joy the kids have in simply exploring and running for hours. We ate way…

A Modern Pink Bedroom Plus A Mattress Every Parent Should Own
So excited to finally share photos from Charlie’s room makeover, a project that I have been wanting to tackle for quite some time! One of the biggest priorities in updating the room was updating her bed….you guys, poor thing at 3+ was still sleeping in a converted crib! Please tell me I’m not the only one! I think because we had kids so close together and had to buy 2 cribs we just justified getting the most use out of it, but it was time! Plus laying on the floor next to her converted crib to read books at night had gotten really old! So the new bed mission was on…

The Best Day Date Ever
Today…I will literally replay it in my mind forever and ever! For all the right reasons it was such a good day! We laughed, we talked, we fell down, we got back up, we ate French fries…we did all the things…the simple yet amazing things that we so easily pass up for to-do lists and errands to check off our lists! For at least a week Charlie has crawled into my bed each morning, like she does, and has asked me…”Today, can you pick me up before nap time so we can go skiing?” Even on the days she doesn’t have school, and for a week I’ve told her “not…

A Second Birthday and All the Feels
It’s a month late but better late than never, right??? At least that’s what I’m telling myself, and besides….#momlife….that pretty much gives me an excuse to be late forever!! Jett turned 2 and while I have LOVED seeing his little personality grow, I am seriously feeling all the feels that my baby is a full blown toddler!! I swear I blinked and we went from a newborn to a 2 year old, but we had the best day celebrating this man and I think it’s safe to say he loved every minute of his special day!

My 33rd Birthday, The Best One Yet
Today I’m 33! What the?!?! How did that even happen? But to be honest I legitimately could not be happier about it! It’s weird when I was younger I always thought it would be so awful to grow older, the wrinkles, the boring clothes, the grey hairs…oh how I was wrong! First I love my wrinkles…each and every one of them…I mean I worked hard for all those laughs, fun days in the sun, and time spent outdoors…I earned those wrinkles. While don’t get me wrong I do my best to take care of my skin (hello R&F, I’m looking at you) I’m absolutely not embarrassed by a single one…

The Art of Doing Nothing
I have always been an on the go girl, ever since I can remember I have been raising from one thing to the next. As a kid I played multiple sports that often times left me with morning practice, school, during school practice, after school practice, then straight to homework, followed by bed, and repeat. From there I went to college, where being an athlete, my days were totally scheduled out so it was only natural that I would transition into adulthood with the same expectations. This year I finally hit the wall and complete burn out as Corporate America had me up at 5:15, racing to get ready before the…

October is for Pumpkin Patches
I won’t lie we’ve been struggling to get into the fall spirit over here. I don’t know whether it was how amazing summer was or that it’s been such nice weather, but while it felt like every mom in the universe was raving about fall layers, pumpkin lattes, and festive decor I was over here like who wants to go to the beach??? However, Charlie has been all about the fall festivities. For a week straight she came home from school asking me if we could have something spooky at our house, so I figured it was time to get into the spirit and what better way than with a pumpkin…
