6 Habits To A Better Me
May marked one year since I left Corporate America to pursue Charlie Rowan Designs full time, and in many ways it feels like at the same time I left my desk job I also stepped away from my old life and consciously started to shift into a life that feels truer to my purpose. This year has without a doubt been a year of transformation for me in many ways. I joke with my friends and family that I have really embraced my inner hippy this year. Which to be honest has always been there I had just pushed it way down and piled things like accomplishment, accolades, busyness, and…

In the Kitchen with Kids: Overnight Oats + OLLY Nutrition
If you’ve been following along it’s no secret that I am one of those moms…the ones who are borderline freakish about the foods their kids eat. I mean, it’s not like I won’t let them eat a cupcake or have a juice box from time to time, but I try to be really conscious of the foods they are eating and try to do my best to control the foods/meals that I can. We do our best to eat wholefoods and watch the amount of preservatives we/they eat but I will openly admit that breakfast has always been a struggle for me. I feel as though there are multiple reasons…

In the Kitchen With Toddlers: French Fries That Won’t Kill You
What better week to talk about homemade french fries than this??? I mean the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition pretty much just stated that eating french fries pretty much kills you! Or as the Washington Post so gently sums it up: “Exactly 236 people died during the course of the study. After adjusting for a variety of factors — education, race, income, alcohol consumption and exercise, among other things — the researchers concluded that people who eat french fries more than twice a week are doomed. Doomed!” (article found here)

Friday Favs: Podcasts I’m Binging On + What’s Keeping Me Sane & Organized
It’s FRIDAY!!! Plus it’s been a hot min since we have done a weekly round up of our favorite things so lets do this! First up, Podcasts: I’m currently, obsessively binging on the @thealisonshow podcast Awesome with Alison, found here. So, admittedly I didn’t really think Alison was my cup of tea. My only perception of her was through social media, and while entertaining, she came off as a bit over the top, loud, and borderline obnoxious. However, it’s kind of like the sun, you just have to look! So when I stumbled across her podcast I thought well, it will at least be entertaining if nothing else! But guys, IT IS…

In the Kitchen with Toddlers & Hello Fresh
Over the past few months Hello Fresh started popping up in the feeds and posts of many of my favorite bloggers and Instagram mama’s who were all raving about the simplicity of the meals that were not only quick but also healthy! So obviously I was intrigued….I mean…quick, healthy, and delivered to your door….sign me up!! So when HelloFresh reached out to partner I jumped at the chance! Let’s be real what busy mama couldn’t use someone else to do the meal planning, shopping, and delivery right to their door….and did I mention that start to finish the meals take 30 minutes!! I mean, what dreams are made of, am I right?!!

SUMMER LIVING.
Isn’t it amazing what a little sunshine and outdoors can do for the soul. After months of snow, rain, and short days summertime feels like such a godsend as a mother. Summer seems to bring such a sense of adventure, and with the warm weather and longer days it feels like you gain a few extra hours to pack in just a little more fun! This week we kicked off the summer with a picnic to one of our favorite parks and it made my mama heart so full with the simplicity of it and the joy the kids have in simply exploring and running for hours. We ate way…

The Granola Bar Recipe You Didn’t Even Know You Wanted: It’s A Good One
So if you’ve been following along on Instagram, specifically Instagram Stories you know last week I put out an SOS for all of your healthy snack recommendations after I officially boycotting unsliced apples in the car as Jett literally eats the entire thing minus about a one inch section with the stem. Seeds and all, who does that?!?! Although I know the cyanide levels are so small in the seeds that the risk of them harming you is pretty much nonexistent, I’m sure it’s still not great for you, so for now it’s sliced apples or no apples!

A Modern Pink Bedroom Plus A Mattress Every Parent Should Own
So excited to finally share photos from Charlie’s room makeover, a project that I have been wanting to tackle for quite some time! One of the biggest priorities in updating the room was updating her bed….you guys, poor thing at 3+ was still sleeping in a converted crib! Please tell me I’m not the only one! I think because we had kids so close together and had to buy 2 cribs we just justified getting the most use out of it, but it was time! Plus laying on the floor next to her converted crib to read books at night had gotten really old! So the new bed mission was on…

Meet The Perfect Spring Blanket : Our Geo Pop Baby & Toddler Blanket
Again, the rain has finally stopped! I literally feel like I am writing that every week! Salt Lake has been so crazy with rainy weekends lately…it’s totally cramping my spring vibes! But, good news, this week should be in the 70s!! WOOT WOO!! So in celebration we’ll be embarrassing all things spring over here; sun dresses, hats, sunscreen, picnics, evening walks….at least until the rain (or snow) decides to show up again!

The Best Day Date Ever
Today…I will literally replay it in my mind forever and ever! For all the right reasons it was such a good day! We laughed, we talked, we fell down, we got back up, we ate French fries…we did all the things…the simple yet amazing things that we so easily pass up for to-do lists and errands to check off our lists! For at least a week Charlie has crawled into my bed each morning, like she does, and has asked me…”Today, can you pick me up before nap time so we can go skiing?” Even on the days she doesn’t have school, and for a week I’ve told her “not…
