{"id":2203,"date":"2016-11-07T16:22:39","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T16:22:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/charlierowandesigns.com\/?p=2203"},"modified":"2021-04-01T17:21:09","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T17:21:09","slug":"painting-pumpkins-with-toddlers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/charlierowandesigns.com\/blog\/painting-pumpkins-with-toddlers\/","title":{"rendered":"Painting Pumpkins with Toddlers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s messy but painting is one of our favorite things to do around here. \u00a0This year we decide to both carve and paint our pumpkins and the kids loved everything about it. \u00a0After lots and lots of painting projects I have found a few tricks that keep it a bit more manageable with two little ones. \u00a0Below are a few quick tips I have for a successful painting session:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Washable paint is the only way to go in my book. \u00a0Also, a good thing to know, washable paint doesn&#8217;t always wash out. \u00a0I learned this the hard way&#8230;so make sure you dress your kiddos in something you don&#8217;t mind if it ends up with a new stain or two.<\/li>\n<li>Invest in an art smock&#8230;they are AMAZING! \u00a0We have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/us\/en\/catalog\/products\/90210490\/\">these <\/a>\u00a0cheap ones\u00a0from IKEA and they work great, but I would LOVE to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amae-co.com\/collections\/utility-collection\">these <\/a>from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amae-co.com\/\">AMAE CO<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A table and chairs that easily wipe down and have enough space for both kids to sit at without being in each others way. \u00a0Having their own painting space has been key for us.
