Friday Favs: Podcasts I’m Binging On + What’s Keeping Me Sane & Organized

It’s FRIDAY!!! Plus it’s been a hot min since we have done a weekly round up of our favorite things so lets do this!

First up, Podcasts:

I’m currently, obsessively binging on the @thealisonshow podcast Awesome with Alison, found here. So, admittedly I didn’t really think Alison was my cup of tea.  My only perception of her was through social media, and while entertaining, she came off as a bit over the top, loud, and borderline obnoxious.  However, it’s kind of like the sun, you just have to look!  So when I stumbled across her podcast I thought well, it will at least be entertaining if nothing else!  But guys, IT IS SO MUCH BETTER!  It’s entertaining, insightful, thoughtful, she shares a ton of great resources, and seriously the babe is SUPER smart….way smarter than I gave her credit for…shame on me, for real!  If you haven’t listened and you’re into the whole self-improvement thing (which really who isn’t?) then tune in, I bet you’ll end up liking it more than you think.

NPR’s How I Built This is a staple in my life.  I geek out on hearing other people tell their story and how they landed where they are.  This podcast takes a more personal look at the people who built the business.  The Five Guys episode is one of my favs as I truly love when success finds normal people who aren’t necessarily seeking it out!

Audio Book:

Gretchen Rubin’s Better Than Before takes an in depth look at habits and habit creation.  I’ve found the book super insightful while also learning a lot about myself and why I have trouble with certain habits.  I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking to make some changes in your life.  For me I have really been wanting to fully commit to cleaner eating and this book has helped me set a few basic habits into motion that I can already see benefits from.  The book does focus a lot on eating habits and diets but you can definitely relate it to all aspects of life.

My Day Planner:

My new Day Designer Planner is the best thing that ever happened to me in terms of staying organized and focused with my day!  It has legit changed my life.  This is the second year in a row that I have used their mid-year planner which is a planner for the whole year but starts in June.  For some reason I like it way better, it helps me reset and commit or recommit to my goals before the year is over. I also like not feeling like I have to have everything planned by Jan 1, after the craziness of the holidays!

This past week I took the time to sit and use the worksheets at the beginning of the planner to really plan out all of my goal for the remainder of the year and it felt AMAZING to get them down on paper!  I have some BIG goals to knock out of the park this year, so small ones too, but for some reason for me when I finally put pen to paper they seem that more attainable!  Outside of the goal planning I’m literally obsessed with every aspect of the planner and promise I will do a full post dedicated to how I use it!
Kid Fashion:

This swimwear line from Minnow is adorable, especially this suit.

Zara is having a huge sale, including kids.  I’m eyeing these pants and this overalls for Jett, and this dress for Charlie, plus the cutest romper.

The Bee and The Fox always has the cutest graphic tees. Find them here, you really can’t go wrong with any of them, they are all adorable.

Women’s Fashion:

Free People has SALE on SALE!  Which is pretty much my kryptonite!  Shop the entire sale section here.

Currently have this jumpsuit in my shopping cart from the Gap.

Just purchased two pairs of these from Old Navy (they are 20% off) to wear under dresses when I’m wrangling kids at the park, zoo, playdates…to spare anyone and everyone from seeing my undies when a child’s foot catches my dress as I’m picking them up!  The struggle is real!

THAT’S ALL!

Hope you all had a great week!  Share some of your favorite finds from the week with me in the comments below, I would love to see what you have your eye on!  And as @thealisonshow says “Sharing is Caring”!
