Friday Favs: What I’m Adding to My Closet + Kids Books We’re Loving
Happy Friday Mama’s!! It’s been a minute since we’ve done a Friday Favs and I feel like it’s time to bring it back! With the start of the new year, we’ve been doing a TON of purging around here, as in I have literally gotten rid of every piece of furniture in my bedroom with the exception of my bed! This spring will mark 9 years that we have been living in our house and for some reason this winter the amount of STUFF we had accumulated hit me like a ton of bricks…literally it felt like the walls were closing in! As I purged, specifically my closet and dresser I got rid of SO many impulse buys, to the point where almost everything I kept was a purchase that I had pre-planned and loved it the minute I bought it. So going forward I am trying to set some strict rules for myself…staying FAR away from Target, making a list before I go in ANY store (even the grocery store) and sticking to it (ie if it isn’t on the list I don’t buy it) and when it comes to clothes and shoes (which are definitely my weak point, I’m NEVER giving them up) I am committing to only buying the things I LOVE and know that I will use and love for seasons. As in, if I haven’t been eyeing it for weeks I can not buy it! So with that said, let’s talk about what I have been eyeing:
Birkenstock Eva Arizona Sandals in Red: I have been eyeing these since last summer, and winter is always the best time to buy sandals as they are typically on sale (unfortunately these are not) but the Red has been out of stock from months! I have been eyeing these as they are waterproof (think Crocs but a MILLION times cuter) and would be so great to have with the kids at the splash pads & pool all summer and I pretty much live in my classic Arizona’s already.
These ASOS Farleigh High Waisted Jeans: Heavy like Levi’s but half the price I have heard so many good things about these high-waisted jeans and have been eyeing them for months!
These Jeffrey Campbell Loafers: How great with these be with distressed denim and a white tee!
Over the holidays we received a handful of new kids books and there are a few I am in love with!
The Snurtch: This is such a cute books that my kids have asked to read over and over. It talks about bad moods and being grumpy in the cutest way while letting kids know that everyone has bad days.
The Smallest Girl in the Smallest Grade: I could read this on repeat! The book’s message is about standing up to things you don’t agree with and how even the smallest actions can cause a big change.
It Came in the Mail: Love this book! All about how giving feels better than receiving!
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: This has been a favorite of Charlie’s. We pick 1-2 stories a night after her regular books to read and then chat about the women in the stories. This is great for 4+
Good Morning Yoga: For all of my yogi mama’s this is a must!
I also added a larger review of the books we currently have on rotation over in our Instagram Stories and they are now saved to our favorite stories so be sure to head over and check out the full list!
